The Ministry of Tourism report particularly highlighted the day of the spring equinox and the SEA Games royal torch lighting ceremony at Angkor Wat on 21 March, sharing that the joint-event attracted 8,726 people, including 2,226 foreign tourists.

In addition, the report shows that hotels, guesthouses and other accommodation services in major tourist destinations, such as Siem Reap and coastal provinces like Sihanoukville and Mondulkiri, have gradually received more reservations for the upcoming Khmer New Year. Tour companies and operators are also selling tour packages for the occasion of the Khmer New Year, especially tour packages for Angkor Sankranta in Siem Reap.

The Capital-Provincial Department of Tourism has been working to disseminate a circular issued by the Ministry of Tourism on 21 March 2023 on the management of tourist flows, improvement of tourism products and services, regulation of service fees and the use of Khmer riel price tags during the Khmer New Year.
